What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are stored in your browser and sent back to the website on subsequent visits. Cookies are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to give site owners a basic understanding of how people move through their pages.

They do not contain personal information on their own. A cookie might store a session identifier or a preference value, but it cannot read other files on your device or run programs. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies at any time.

Essential Cookies

Always On

These cookies are required for the site to function. They handle things like storing your cookie consent choice and maintaining basic security settings. They cannot be switched off without breaking site functionality.

Examples: cookieConsent (stores your preference), session identifiers, CSRF tokens

Duration: Session or up to 12 months depending on the cookie

Analytics Cookies

Optional

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are visited most, how long people spend on each section, and whether there are any pages that cause confusion. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid), page-view counters

Duration: Up to 2 years for persistent analytics cookies

Marketing Cookies

Optional

Marketing cookies track visits across websites to help advertising platforms show relevant ads. If you have consented to these, third-party advertising networks may use them to build a profile of your interests. If you decline, you will still see ads but they will not be tailored to your browsing activity.

Examples: Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, Bing Ads

Duration: Typically 30 to 90 days

Preference Cookies

Optional

These cookies remember choices you make to improve your experience — such as your language selection, region, or display settings. Without them you may need to re-enter your preferences each visit.

Examples: Language settings, region preference, UI layout choice

Duration: Up to 1 year
